WHOLE WHEAT JEERA KHAKHRA

Crunchy, tummy filling healthy snack to relish, with no guilt feeling. And guess what! recipe is too easy. So let me share how easy it is..

 



INGREDIENTS (For 6-8 khakhras) :

  • Wheat flour (gehu ka atta) - 1 cup (keep some extra wheat flour for rolling)
  • Turmeric powder (pissi huyi haldi) - 1/4 tbsp 
  • Cumin seeds (jeera) - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste (namak swaad anusar)
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Water - to kneed dough
HOW TO MAKE :
  • Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and kneed a soft dough using enough water
  • Cover this bowl with a lid and let dough rest for 15-20 minutes
  • Take a small portion of dough and roll it into thin roti using dry wheat flour
  • Heat non stick tawa , place this roti on it. (Keep flame slow)
  • Cook on both sides, use cotton cloth or wooden khakhra press to let khakhra turn super crisp
  • Remove from tawa and let it cool completely. Store in an air-tight container. 
  • Can be stored for 10-12 days.
Enjoy these crispy yummy healthy khakhras with pickle, chutney, salsa or dips :)
