On day-2, we worship MAA BRAHMACHARINI .
The idol of this Goddess is very gorgeous. There is rosary in her right hand and kamandal in left hand. Her name is famous as Tapacharini- Brahmacharini.

NAVRATRA SPECIAL DAY-2


JEERA ALOO & KHEER

Ingredients:

For JEERA ALOO
  • Potatoes (Boiled & diced in medium sized pieces)- ubaale huye aur katte huye aaloo - 3-4medium sized
  • Cumin seeds(jeera)- half teaspoon
  • Red Chilli powder (pissi lal mirch) - one fourth tea spoon
  • Dry mango powder (amchoor)- half teaspoon
  • Salt (namak)- to taste
  • Refined oil- 2 spoons
For SWAANK KHEER
  • Vrat rice (Swaank ke chawal)-half cup
  • Sugar (Cheeni)- one fourth cup
  • Milk (doodh)- one cup
  • Raisins (kishmish/soggi)- 10-12
METHOD TO PREPARE JEERA ALOO:
  • Take oil in deep frying pan (kadhai) and heat it, now add cumin seeds(jeera) and let it crackle and turn into golden brown
  • Now add amchoor, red chilli powder and salt
  • Now add diced boiled potatoes and mix well, keep flame slow in order to avoid sticking and burning from bottom of kadhai, if get sticky then you may add 1 spoon of refined. Now jeera aloo is ready
METHOD TO PREPARE SWAANK KHEER:
  • Clean and wash rice with water
  • Put half cup rice in pan and add one and half cup water and allow it to boil on medium flame by keeping lid on pan
  • in between remove lid and stir in order to avoid sticking from bottom of pan
  • Once rice turns soft, add milk and sugar and mix well.
  • Now let it come to boil and stir it in intervals to avoid sticking
  • Boil it till consistency becomes bit thick, in last add raisins and cook for just 1min and remove it from flame. Kheer is ready
