KHATTE RICE

Easy & Quick to make ..... 




INGREDIENTS : (For 2 servings)

  • Fresh Boiled rice / Left over rice - 2 cups
  • Chopped onion (bareek katta pyaz) - 1 medium size
  • Chopped carrot (bareek katti gajar)- 1 medium size
  • Green chilli finely chopped (bareek katti hari mirch)- 1
  • Mustard seeds (raai)- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Split bengal gram (Channa Dal) - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green Curry leaves (kadi patte) - 5-6
  • Green coriander leaves chopped (katta hua hara dhaniya)- 1 spoon
  • Tamarind water (Imli ka paani)- 1 cup 
  • Red chilli powder (pissi lal mirch)- 1/4 teaspoon
  • Refined oil- 2 spoons
  • Salt to taste (Namak swad anusaar)

HOW TO MAKE:

  • Take a pan and heat oil. Add channa dal and saute till it turns light brown.
  • Add raai and let it crackle. Then add curry leaves, green chillies and saute for 2-3 seconds
  • Add chopped onions and carrots and saute it till it becomes little soft (little crunchiness too must be retained).
  • Add red chilli powder, tamarind water and salt. Boil it till it reduces to thick consistency.
  • Add rice and mix well lighlty. Keep stirring till rice mix with tadka well.
Garnish with green coriander leaves and green chilli. 

Mouth Watering Khatte rice is ready to serve......

Note: You can increase or decrease tamarind as per your taste.
