HONEY CHILLI BABY POTATOES


SWEET & SPICY MOUTH WATERING HONEY CHILLI SAUCE is of-course a treat for your taste buds.... 
You can add fried cornflour coated cauliflower, fried chicken or crispy vegetables to this sauce....




Here we bring recipe of BABY POTATOES GLAZED WITH HONEY AND CHILLI SAUCE........ 

INGREDIENTS: (2-4 servings)

FOR SAUCE :
  • Whole dry long red chilies (sabut lal mirch sookhi huyi) - 5-6
  • Garlic cloves (lehsun ki kaliyaan) - 10-12
  • Honey (shehed) - 2 tablespoon
  • Sugar (cheeni)- 1/2  teaspoon
  • Red Chili powder (lal mirch pissi huyi) - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Cornflour - 1 teaspoon diluted in half cup water
  • Refined oil- 1 teaspoon
  • Salt (namak)- to taste
FOR BABY POTATOES:
  • Baby Potatoes washed (achhe se dhulle huye chhote aloo)- 8-10
  • Capsicum diced in cubes (shimla mirch barre tukro mein katti huyi)  - 2 small sized
  • Onion diced in cubes (pyaz barre chooras tukro mein katta hua)- 1 big
  • Refined oil- for deep frying
HOW TO MAKE:
  • Soak whole dry red chilies in a bowl of water for 30-45min. till it becomes tender. Then grind chilies, garlic cloves with pinch of salt and little water into a paste and keep it aside.
  • Clean baby potatoes thoroughly with water without peeling it and partially boil it for 5min. in boiling water in open vessel till it gets little tender. sieve water and keep it aside for 5-10min till potatoes get dry..
  •  Heat oil in a deep pan (kadhai) and deep fry baby potatoes on low-medium flame till it turns golden brown from outside and tender inside. Remove on paper kitchen tissue to extract excess oil.
  • Take a heavy bottom pan (kadhai) and take 1 spoon oil and saute onion and capsicum for 10-15 seconds stirring it continuously and remove it in a bowl.
  • For sauce, take same pan and add 1 teaspoon oil and chili garlic paste and stir continuously for 5 seconds and add sugar and mix well.
  •  Now add honey, red chili powder and add 1/2 cup water and bring it to boil for 1-2 min. till sauce is reduced a little. and add diluted cornflour and mix well.
  • Bring it to boil and add potatoes, capsicum and onion and salt to taste.
  • Cover the lid and cook on slow flame for 5 min. In between check and stir to avoid burning of sauce from the bottom.
  • Open the lid and cook it little for few seconds till baby potatoes, capsicum and onions are coated well with beautiful shiny sauce.
